In this quick guide, we will show you how to set up a NAS NetHDD (NFS Share) for ANNKE IP cameras. Here we take a NAS system from Promise SmartStore NS4600 as an example. Kindly notice that not all NAS systems are the same and therefore its functionality or software may vary from one manufacturer to another but with this quick guide you will get an idea of what the basic configuration steps are.
Before to begin setting up the IP camera you will need to configure the NAS correctly. As our products are Linux based system it is very important that you enabled UNIX/Linux services in your NAS system. If that service is not enabled your device will not be able to discover the NAS system in the network.
Create a sharing folder with granted Read and Write permissions
Now we need to assign the camera”s IP address to the sharing folder.
Login to camera’s IP address via the web browser and select [Advance Configuration] – [Storage] and tab [NAS]. Enter the NAS IP address and the path in same way as the sharing folder in the NAS. Click on [Save].
Click on the tab [Storage Management] and select the Uninitialized HDD by clicking on the check mark box. You can see that the status is Uninitialized so you need to format it before it can be used. Click on [Format] and wait till the status shows up Normal.
NOTE: Every device needs a separated share folder
After initialization/Format of your NetHDD, you can start setup a recording schedule to start record video on your NAS system.
