A bit more information in that if I use the older N44 unit as a POE switch I can get the cameras to show on the N48 but connected directly I get nothing. If I put on a newer C500 camera it comes on without issue.

    Hi, Philo,

    Welcome to Annke community.

The camera I41G is not compatible with the NVR N48PAW. Thus, the cameras can't be powered on via the NVR N48PAW directly.

When you connect the cameras to the N48PAW, you could see that the cameras can't be powered on.

C500 camera also use the same POE protocol as the NVR N48PAW, so it could work with the NVR N48PAW.

Ok thanks for the answer but could you put a little more meat on the bones please. I noted that I can get them to work using the old box as a POE injector but is that the only thing that's different. Is the old box also doing the decoding or could I use a stand alone POE injector & use one of the older cameras elsewhere on my network. This is to give me a better understanding of CCTV systems, POE systems, & to allow time to gradually upgrade the cameras, without compromising my CCTV coverage.

    Hi, Philo,

The old NVR system is a standalone system from the N48PAW system. We don't suggest you combine these two systems together.

Usually, we called your old system as the sPOE system, shorten for the simplified POE system. The new system N48PAW is the POE system, also called the standard POE system.

Because they are using the different POE protocol, so we don't combine the systems together.
