    Only a Guess here..

I would look at your System and see if it has the ONVIF setup for Basic only that might be a better option when trying to do that kind of thing also would double check that ONVIF user is turned on if that option is within your device as well.. Kind of makes no since to me to be honest to have a Check box next to ONVIF on my Annke Device when I can't access it like I can other systems. Annke and the Device main company is one of the hardest systems to get working when your in a hurry lol.. If your system is setup for Digest only it might be hard to run commands and Annke might tell you  that it isn't setup to do so by design again only guessing here...

I have authentication set to digest/basic.

Interesting to see the differences between using the web interface to the camera and using the Guarding Vision app (on a Mac) to access the camera.

Neither seems to make it possible to do things like the set the exposure or even actually take a snapshot through ONVIF--which sort of makes me wonder if the ONVIF version in the camera is anywhere close to complete.

    Thanks for replying!

Tim at Customer Support via the chat pointed me to the correct place.

Under Network -> Advanced Settings is a tab named Integration Protocol.  Under that is a check box to enable ONVIF (mine was already checked) and, more importantly, a place to add an ONVIF user and password.

Once I added that I was able to run the test script above and did *not* get the authentication error again.

That's the kind of support you hope to get all of the time and this time I did!

Awesome, I am glad you got that figured out.. Sadly my camera don't have that part within that area.. Then I forgot all about my 1 IP camera from Annke lol.. It is so old and kind of a Toy that always over look it lol.. Then worse yet, IT don't even offer some of the other things with in what you mention. IT is much older Camera and they don't offer it anymore But does have WebUI  and not sure it did well when it was sold seeing I can't even find one on any of the places like Ebay lol.. IT don't have ONVIF but I can access it over IP on Annke type recorder The truth if I had to say I have over a Dozen from a different company that was the companies number one seller in 2014 and 15 selling over 100k units a month and you can find them today like taking over flea bay places with over 100 listed and over 100 sold in the last month even today.. Personally not sure why the Annke camera i61DS didn't do well.. Personally if it was updated with good working software I am sure it would have had better sales.. Also I guess because it is Annke only device and not offering ONVIF maybe that is why it didn't do to well. IT did have some awesome options at first before I upgraded the FW because the camera started to have some issues. Since doing the update all the options are no longer working and some no longer even offered in the camera.. Line Crossing and Intrusion is however it no longer works either.. Lucky for for me the PIR that is in the camera does still work and the Alarm siren that it has still works if I setup to go off...
