networked cameras connected to a single NVR port
If I have a network of cameras, can I use the NVR to access more than one camera on the same cable (i.e. network)?
The cameras connect to a store and forward concentrator. The concentrator passes each message to/from a camera unchanged. It echos the messages on each connected link to and from the master port. My browser can talk to each connected camera when I enter the correct I address of the desired camera.
The NVR seems to think that only one camera can exist on each of the 8 links. Any cameras connected to the LAN port is not found. Just the first camera attached to a camera port found by the initial search is accessible, all other cameras on that link are ignored. (The camera chosen is on the link is random, as in 'the first responder', and can change from one NVR boot to the next.)
How can I configure multiple cameras (all different IP addresses) into one port of the NVR?

I know this has been 4 days with no real reply. My guess it sounds like you have a NVR that is like one of my other Branded NVRs in this case a 16port POE EZviz and for me is a POS, The NVR will only work with their cameras and only on the ports of the NVR not on the normal Ethernet port. Another brand that I use and have 1-4ch, 3-8ch, 2-16ch and even a 32ch NVR. All of them are POE NVRs besides 1 and that is a newer 8ch AI NVR. All of the NVRs POE will work with ports and or Ethernet port connected cameras. My 32ch NVR has a Bridge mode where I can connect all cameras on my normal local area network and port them into the NVR POE for power and can even use the POE ports to power other non IP camera devices not that I ever would.. That NVR is 16POE port and 16 extra channels for 32.. My 16ch 16POE port AI NVR has a Host mode that lets me access the cameras from the outside but are not portable like my 32ch would be.
For you, It sounds like the NVR is like my EZviz 16poe 16ch NVR. If I had Wifi cameras that I wanted to connect from them I would need setup the camera on my local lan over Wifi, Then usinig my Managed Switch setup a Vlan to port in the Wifi camera to the NVR Port.. This sounds like what you might have to do with your POE NVR. Setting up a POE or non POE Ip camera on your local Ip address. However once the camera is setup you would then want to go to your Network area for the camera, Change the IP address to match the IP range for yoru POE NVR Switch. Then using a managed or non managed Switch make a connection from the switch to the PORT you want to use for your NVR, Lets say in this case Ch4, Then setting up channel 4 on your NVR to use that IP address for the camera enter the user and password with Needed port for your setup and that would let you move cameras from normal LAN to your POE NVR port without having to use POE camera on that port..
On my main set of NVRs besides the 32ch I can only Bus in 4 cameras over 1 ethernet cable. That is because of the way the Circuit for the NVR is designed. Sounds like yours is only setup to run 1 ip per port no matter if you are trying to bus in more then 1 connection.

Normally however you want to not use the Bus type connection and use a Home Run connection to each port of your POE NVR and normally the NVRs are Active power so a camera that don't use POE could be ported into your NVR on a home run setup even connecting a standard Ip camera that requires 12v or 24vac if your cameras are dual voltage type like some of mine are. Rather then taking that ethernet cable from your camera to your Router/Hub or Switch it would connect to the port of the NVR. Normally using a Bus method of ethernet connection is because you have a hub or switch in another location that houses your Ip cameras and only 1 ethernet cable returns to the Security room where your NVR is located. in this case you would be better off either getting a Non POE NVR where all cameras connect over 1 ethernet connection or a different NVR that has options of POE port use and or connection of all cameras over just the Ethernet for the NVR as if it wasn't POE like all my POE NVRs are setup beside the POS Ezviz..
