    Dear Customer,
    Have a nice day.
If you purchased the DVR in 2024, it is likely to support 3K cameras. It is best to confirm your DVR software version. If it is V4.26.131_220915, it can definitely connect to 3K cameras.
And if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us support@annke.com.
    Best regards!

The most important part I am interested in is the recording of Sound with the inbuilt MIC.

So if your asking how to get your Audio to work? That you have your camera connected to your DVR and have video but don't have Audio you will need to make sure a couple of things are in place. First you will want to make sure the cameras are setup for TVI if they have multi option as your DVR is a TVI Format normally and requires all cameras that have audio to work in the native mode aka TVI.. Next normally the camera if you were to click on the speaker option in video it will fail. That is because normally the channels are default to only run Video. So you will want to go to your DVR, Main Menu, Then Video/Audio and under each channel for both Main and sub streams you will want to change the type to Video/Audio as normally as I said it will be setup for Video format only. Then as long as you have the camera setup to work with audio as some cameras have the option in the OSD to turn on or off not only in the DVR but in the Cameras OSD.. But for your first setup need to change the DVRs Video/Audio area to each channel that you have Mic setup on to not only be Video Format but Video/Audio so it will work. Then if you don't want it in Sub you can just change the Main.. However if you want your mobile app to play audio while away using the app then I would setup for both Main and Sub channels..
