Motion detection recording means NVR will record automatically when it is triggered by movement.
The NVR needs a working HDD for recording. Without the HDD, the system can show live viewing, but can’t record and playback.
1. Please follow the pictures below to check the HDD status on the NVR monitor.
Please right-click the mouse on the monitor, then go to the system setup
system setup--storage setup--HDD status

Kindly note that only when the HDD status is normal/formatted, the system can record
If the HDD shows abnormal or unformatted, please format the HDD and then check again. The picture below is for your reference to format the HDD.
If formatting can't make the HDD work, please contact us at support@annke.com.
2. If the HDD is formatted, please right click on the NVR screen, then click "camera" to enter the camera settings menu.
3. Choose the camera--recording mode, then you can change the recording mode to event recording.
Event recording is motion recording.
If you need to hear the audio in the recordings, please enable sound recording.
If you don't need the audio in the recordings, please disable it.
4. Then, please click intelligent detection to set up the motion detection.
If you don't enable the custom detection area, our system treats the entire screen as the detection area by default.
If you enable the custom detection area, you can set the camera to detect only specific areas.
After setting up the motion detection function and motion detection record schedule, the system will record when detecting the motion.
If you have difficulty in completing the setup, please feel free to contact us at support@annke.com.
