The DVR/NVR can be connected to two monitors simultaneously. There are two ways to connect your recorder to two monitors.
1. Recorders with HDMI and VGA Ports
2. Recorders with One HDMI/VGA Port
1. Recorders with HDMI and VGA Ports
Most DVR/NVRs have two video output ports, one VGA and another HDMI (see the picture below).
Step 1. Prepare two monitors, one with a VGA port and another with an HDMI port.
Step 2. Connect the VGA port of your recorder into the VGA port of the monitor with a VGA cable.
Step 3. Connect the HDMI port of your recorder into the HDMI port of the monitor with an HDMI cable.
2. Recorders with One HDMI/VGA Port
Step 1. For recorders only with one VGA/HDMI port, you need to connect the recorder to a VGA/HDMI splitter.
Step 2. Connect the splitter to two monitors with a split cable (see the pictures below).
Note: The length of the VGA and HDMI cable can’t surpass 15 m and 10 m respectively. The monitors will lose the video signal with a long cable.
