    The system is a N44PAM Version No V4.71.000 Build 221026 the issue is not getting it connected the issue is whether it will format the whole NAS or just the folder?

    I'm sorry to inform you that formatting is a necessary step.
    However, if you have configured the addition of a specific file path to our NVR, the formatting will only affect that file path and will not impact other data on your NAS.
