Purpose:
This article provides possible reasons and corresponding solutions for the issue of hard drive and SD card.
Part 1 Hard drive
Reason #1: The hard drive storage is fully used.
Solution: Please enable the OVERWRITE of the system, so the system will delete the recording files from the oldest automatically and gradually when the hard drive is fully occupied.
Note: The OVERWRITE setting varies on different models of the Annke system. To configure the OVERWRITE for your system model, please contact Annke tech support team: <support@annke.com>
Reason #2: The hard drive is not in the 'Normal' status.
Solution: Please format the hard drive on the Annke system to have a try.
Reason #3: The hard drive is not installed in the system properly.
Solution: Please follow this instruction of the installation of a hard drive on the Annke system.
Reason #4: The hard drive cables may be defective.
Solution: Please replace the hard drive cables ( SATA cable + power cable) to have a try.
Reason #5: The hard drive may not be compatible with the Annke system.
Solution: Please make sure you are using a surveillance hard drive.
Refer to this instruction for the recommended hard drive for Annke systems:

You can try a hard drive from different brand if available.
Reason #6: The hard drive may be defective.
Solution: Please try another hard drive on the Annke system if available.
Note: If you have a desktop PC, you can check if it can recognize this hard drive. If yes, please format the hard drive into FAT32, then put it back to the Annke system and try again.
Reason #7: Some unknown reasons
Solution: If the above reasons weren't effective, please try below general solutions.
a. Reboot the Annke System by unplugging the power supply.
b. Do a factory reset on the Annke system.
c. Ask the Annke support team <support@annke.com> for the firmware to upgrade your Annke system.
Reason #8: The Annke system may be defective.
Solution: If all the above solutions couldn't resolve the issue, the Annke system should be defective. Please send your purchase information to our tech support team <support@annke.com>, then we will help you further.

Part 2 SD card
Reason #1: SD card storage is fully used.
Solution: Please enable the OVERWRITE of the system, so the system will delete the recording files from the oldest automatically and gradually when the SD card is fully occupied.

Reason #2: The SD card is not in the 'Normal' status.
Solution: Please format the SD card on the Annke system to have a try.
Reason #3: The SD card is not installed in the system properly.
Solution: Please refer to the user guide of the Annke system to insert the SD card, pay attention to the guiding mark near the SD card slot.
Reason #4: The SD card may not be compatible with the Annke system.
Solution: Please try another SD card. You can try the SD card from different brands.
Note: Please pay attention to the max storage of the SD card that can be supported by the Annke System.
Reason #5: The SD card may be defective.
Solution: Please check if the SD card can recognized by a computer. If yes, format the SD card into FAT32, then put it back to the Annke system and try again.
If possible, please try another SD card on the Annke system.
Reason #6: Some unknown reasons
Solution: If the above reasons weren't effective, please try below general solutions.
