What is an App Password?
An App Password is a special password generated by your email provider for third-party devices or applications, such as security camera systems.
When two-step verification (2FA) is enabled on your email account, your normal email password usually cannot be used directly on devices like DVR/NVRs or cameras. In this case, you need to create and use an App Password instead.
After setting up the App Password, your camera system will be able to securely log in to your email account and send motion detection alert emails normally.
Here are the steps:
Gmail:
1. Log in Google account, go to 'Security', then turn on '2-Step Verification'.
2. Search 'App Password' and type anything in app name and click create. Then it will pop up a window shows an app password (16 digits).
