Purpose: If your battery-powered camera fails to reach 100% after prolonged charging, the battery level increases very slowly, or remains stuck at a fixed percentage, please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.
Troubleshooting Steps:
-
Identify your charging method and follow the corresponding checks
Please note: Regardless of the charging method used, do not keep previewing while the camera is charging.
A. Solar Charging1. Please check the installation location of the solar panel to confirm whether it is positioned in an area with direct sunlight.
If the panel is in a shaded area or receives insufficient light, the output voltage may drop below 5V, preventing the camera from charging. Adjust the position and angle of the solar panel so it faces the sun as directly as possible.2. Verify cable connections
Make sure the connection between the solar panel and the camera is secure and fully plugged in. Check both ends of the cable for any looseness, damage, or corrosion.
3. Clean the solar panel surface
Dirt, dust, fallen leaves, bird droppings, or other debris on the panel surface can significantly reduce charging efficiency. Wipe the surface clean with a soft, dry cloth.
B. 5V/2A Power Adapter ChargingPlease check whether the camera’s power consumption is higher than the charging rate:
1. Check how frequently the camera is being woken up (either manually or by PIR detection). High trigger frequency can prevent the battery from fully charging.
2. Check whether the camera is set to continuous recording mode. Continuous recording significantly increases power consumption.
3. After checking the above points, please provide the following information to our technical support team for further investigation:
- Camera Cloud ID
- Approximate number of daily triggers / wake-ups
- Whether continuous recording is enabledHow to find the Cloud ID:
Here is the method to find the Cloud ID for your reference.
