Purpose: If a solar panel is connected to your camera but the battery level continues to drop, charges very slowly, or does not charge at all, please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.
Troubleshooting Steps:
-
Check the installation location and sunlight exposure
Please check the installation location of the solar panel to confirm whether it is positioned in an area with direct sunlight.
If the panel is in a shaded area or receives insufficient light, the output voltage may drop below 5V, preventing the camera from charging. Adjust the position and angle of the solar panel so it faces the sun as directly as possible.2. Verify cable connections
Make sure the connection between the solar panel and the camera is secure and fully plugged in. Check both ends of the cable for any looseness, damage, or corrosion.
3.Clean the solar panel surface
Dirt, dust, fallen leaves, bird droppings, or other debris on the panel surface can significantly reduce charging efficiency. Wipe the surface clean with a soft, dry cloth.
4. Perform a cross-test with another solar panel (if available)
If you have multiple cameras of the same model that come with solar panels, try swapping the panels. Install a different solar panel in the same location and check whether the camera charges normally under identical conditions.
Please check whether other solar panels can successfully charge the camera under the same conditions.
5. Additional checks
Confirm that you are using the original solar panel and cable that came with the camera. If all the above methods don't work for you, please contact us at support@annke.com.
